Designskills

The provincial youth service of Limburg provides a platform for young talent. Besides bands they also give a stage to DJ's under the Limbomania subdivision DJ Mania and comedians have their own Comedy Mania.

On the side event Battle Of The Bands, the finalists to prove themselves and improve their skills for the grand finale. For this project a number of logo, poster and flyer designs were needed, which need to relate to each other.

Since the project aims to promote young talent from Limburg, we invited also young graphic design talent to create a style for these events.

Through a design competition students could win a practice as a designer at Designskills. Designskills gave these youngsters guidance for this project and teached them how a project like this develops. The overall style was created at Designskills developed at the start of the project, but the youngsters that won the contest got as much creative freedom as possible. Their freedom was not restricted unless it was necessary to preserve clarity and focus on readability.
